About
Meet our Musicians

An Array of Strings is a group of musicians, each with professional experience and each of whom ended up, one way or another, in the Charlottesville office of WillowTree, a world leader in digital creation (if you are not both a musician and computer programmer, feel free to ask us about the "hidden meaning" of the group's name). In the winter of 2019 Jordan began seeking out fellow musicians at the office, occasionally getting together before work to read through music, until Covid put an end to all good things. However, during our work-from-home phase, he was joined at WillowTree by Mark on cello, an instrument we had sorely lacked, and by Emily on first violin. We are currently looking for a second violinist for the full string quartet.

The short biographical sketches below describe our individual musical qualifications; what makes us unique, however, is how we combine that with our love of performing and joy in playing together. Whether it is all of us playing as a full string quartet, or merely a duo playing a more intimate event, you can be assured that we will provide the very best musical experience.
